Psalm 150:1
"Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power."

Amanda Cerny

SOBEK, the crocodile--Crocodilus niloctico--was a creature of DUAL personality to the ancient Egyptian. Because of its dangerousness was viewed as a symbol of cosmic disorder (Seth). But on the other hand, it was true that the crocodile emerged from the waters like the sun god himself.

"Sobek was also associated with pharaonic power, fertility, and military prowess, but served additionally as a protective deity with apotropaic qualities, invoked especially for protection against the dangers presented by the Nile. Sobek has been famed for having been revered by the first female Pharaoh by the Nebty name Sat-Sekhem-Nebet-Tawy Sobekneferu, present both in the female Pharaoh's nomen, Sobekneferu (sbk-nfrw - Beauty of Sobek), and her praenomen Kasobekre (The Ka of Sobek-Ra)."

Duerme silencioso jardín en paz
Si supieras cuánto amor
Me despierta el bello anochecer
Y las cálidas noches de Moscú
Aguas en el río se mueven ya
Plateadas por la luna
La canción se nos va acercando
Entonada en las noches de Moscú
Me miras de reojo, amor,
Y me cuesta mucho contar
Lo que oculto ahí, en mi corazón
Ni fuerzas tengo de callar
Un nuevo día nace en el resplandor
La oscuridad se rinde
Necesito que me prometas ya
Recordar esas noches de Moscú
Letra: Mikhail Matusovski

Even whispers aren't heard in the garden,
Everything has died down till morning.
If you only knew how dear to me
Are these Moscow nights.
The river moves, unmoving,
All in silver moonlight.
A song is heard, yet unheard,
In these silent nights.
Why do you, dear, look askance,
With your head lowered so?
It is hard to express, and hard to hold back,
Everything that my heart holds.
But the dawn's becoming ever brighter.
So please, just be good.
Don't you, too, forget
These summer, Moscow nights.
