Psalms 8:4
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”

Psalm 32:6

"For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him."

St Andreas' west door Archbishop Bruno, Duke, the brother of Emperor Otto I (the Great) founded the collegial-church of St. Andrew, Cologne in the second half of the 10th century. It was an early Romanesque church with a crypt.

Classic Romanesque Architecture. Romanesque architecture is an architectural style of Medieval Europe characterized by semi-circular arches.

The Pisa Cathedral in Italy is a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture.

The Natural History Museum of London. It was built from 1873-1880 by Alfred Waterhouse after the original designer Francis Fowke died. As can be seen from these columns, Waterhouse added his own Romanesque touches.

"El encanto de estas iglesias rurales románicas, que no obligan al espectador a admirarlas por su enorme magnitud, como sucede con las grandes catedrales de las ciudades, reside principalmente en lo humano de sus medidas. A ello debe de añadirse el distanciamiento del ajetreo mundanal, del que parte un efecto tranquilizador."~~~Rolf Toman
A Romanesque church in a cementery surrounded by countryside- such peaceful places give us a feeling of historical continuity. This, or something like it, one thinks, is what it looked like in the Middle Ages, when the church was built. The attraction of these
Romanesque country churches has something to do with their human proportions; they do not compel admiration by means of their imposing size, as city cathedrals do. And In addition, they are well away from the hurly-burly of everyday existence, and this sense of seclusion is reassuring."~~~Rolf Toman
Psalms 8:4
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”
"The Middle Ages exhibit life and color and change”~~~Charles H. Haskins
“séances…at which good and holy spirits manifested.”~~~Hawthorne
